Counseling for Men
in Flower Mound, TX
In person in Flower Mound and online across Texas and Florida
Many men put off counseling because they’re not sure they’ll be understood, or they’d simply prefer to talk with another man. Alexandr Philip, LPC-S, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who takes the time to understand you. He listens first, so you never have to worry about finding the right words. Whether it’s stress, anxiety, grief, a big life change, or something you’ve never been able to put into words, you’re welcome here. In-person sessions are in Flower Mound, near Highland Village, Lewisville and Argyle, with online sessions across Texas and Florida. Faith-based or secular, your choice.
Why Men Come to Counseling
Many men wait until things feel heavy before reaching out. Some of the most common reasons men start counseling at Heavenly Counseling include:
- Stress and burnout from work, finances or carrying responsibility for others
- Anxiety that shows up as restlessness, irritability, poor sleep or a mind that won’t shut off
- Anger and frustration that feel bigger than the situation
- Grief and loss, including the death of a parent, spouse, friend or child
- Relationship strain with a spouse, partner or family
- Life transitions like a career change, divorce, becoming a father, an empty nest or retirement
- Feeling stuck, unmotivated or disconnected without being sure why
You don’t need a crisis to start. Many men come in simply because they want to handle life better than they are right now.
What It’s Like to Work With a Male Therapist
Some men find it easier to open up to another man. Sessions with Alexandr Philip, LPC-S, are a conversation, not a lecture, and you set the pace. The first session is mostly about getting to know you: what’s going on, what you’d like to be different and what has or hasn’t helped so far. From there, you’ll build a plan together that fits your goals, using proven approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Sessions are available in person at the Flower Mound office or online by secure video for clients anywhere in Texas and Florida. Learn more about Alexandr.
Faith-Based or Secular Counseling for Men
For some men, faith is central. For others, it isn’t part of the picture. Both are welcome here. If you’d like your Christian faith included, Scripture and prayer can be part of your sessions through Christian counseling. If you’d prefer a secular approach, sessions stay focused on evidence-based methods without religious content. You can also choose a blend of both, and you can change your mind at any time.
