I Want To Give You The Tools And Resources To Change Your Life

Oftentimes, the focus of therapy is on asking questions. While there are many benefits to this non-directive approach, it has its limits. There often comes a point when clients simply run out of things to say or don’t know what to do. Endless questioning usually just produces more questions, leaving people just as stuck as before.

As a therapist, I focus on giving clients tools and resources in addition to asking them the right questions. This directive, action-oriented approach makes it easier for people to initiate change and take steps to improve their lives. It makes the work of therapy simpler. After all, most people come to therapy because they want realistic solutions to everyday problems. My goal is to provide that.

I Like Helping Clients Find Creative Ways To Work Through Their Struggles

My approach is conversational, relational, and focused on getting to the core of my clients’ needs. I use a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help people challenge negative thought patterns and reframe the way they see themselves. I often encourage journaling, since it lets clients record their thoughts, process their feelings, and think more clearly about their lives.

Because I am a musically-inclined person and a classically-trained vocalist, I also like to incorporate music into my sessions. I find music incredibly powerful and cathartic in therapy—it has the power to convey emotions that words can’t.

By combining artistic expression with talk therapy, I am able to help clients find reative ways to work through their emotional struggles.

I Specialize In Helping People Work Through Grief And Loss

Although I treat clients with anxiety and many other mental health issues, my specialty is grief counseling. In my own life, I have lost many close friends and family members—some of whom took their own lives.

I know the heaviness and heartache that comes with losing a loved one. I also know what it feels like to grieve without adequate support. That’s why I want to be someone that people can lean on when they’re mourning.

Above all, I encourage clients to grieve at their own pace and in their own way. Grief is not some neat, orderly process—it’s messy, it’s full of ups and downs, and it usually doesn’t follow the stages of grief that are popular in our culture.

That’s why I’m big on reassurance. I like to reassure my clients that there’s no rush to “get through” grief. After all, healing doesn’t follow a linear timeline—and sometimes the most powerful healing of all takes a while to reach completion.

A Little Bit About Who I Am

I consider myself a renaissance man. I like to sing, write poetry, work out, play sports, and develop creative ideas. I have a background in engineering, sales, communications, management, and music.

Before becoming a therapist, I managed multiple retail stores in the tech field and worked as a life coach. These experiences help me relate to clients from many different walks of life and many different career paths.

In my spare time, you can often find me spending time with my wife, my daughter, and my dog Starr. You can also find me writing, as I am an aspiring author currently at work on my first book. I love to watch sports and root for the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Mavericks. And as a novice foodie, I know where all the hot food spots are in my area.

Let Me Help You Embrace A More Hopeful And Abundant Future

In Jeremiah 29:11, God tells Jeremiah: “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

As a therapist, I seek to live in accordance with this verse and help my clients find a path that’s true to their values and endows them with hope for the future. I know it isn’t easy to trust the process of counseling, but with the right therapist, mountains can move. Lives can change. If you want to take this journey with me, I would be honored to walk by your side.
